Train Boxer to Sit
Training your boxer to sit is essential in many circumstances. Say you’re going out for a walk, and your obnoxious boxer dog just won’t listen to you. In a case there’s people around, walking by, bicyclers, or other animals, you want to be able to tell your boxer dog to sit until they pass by. Of course, an untrained boxer (and one without a leash) would run towards them and start licking or barking, which of course, would scare them, and could potentially get you in trouble.
So there’s plenty of reasons to train your boxer to sit. Now the question is, how exactly do you train your boxer dog to sit? How long will it take your boxer training to succeed? Truth is, you can’t train your boxer dog in a day. Perfect boxer training needs consistency so if you’re not consistent with your methods, your boxer may not know what you want from him.
Your training should consist of the praise and reward method. Whenever your boxer dog is running around minding its own business, call him back to you. When he comes to you, (and if he doesn’t then you should probably train your boxer to come to you first) give the command sit. When your boxer dog sits down, give him a nice treat and lots of praise. Of course, he may not always sit the first time you say the command, especially when he’s hyper and too busy doing dog things, you should keep it consistent and eventually your boxer will come and sit from the first command.
You need to establish the alpha dog relationship with your boxer. When your boxer knows you’re in command, you’re the leader, he will listen to you. Otherwise, your boxer thinks he’s in charge and won’t really care much about what you say. I hope your boxer training goes well, and good luck with your boxer!
